I am a physician-scientist working to improve healthcare in developing countries.

I started my career as a biomedical engineer using technology to advance medicine. On my way to becoming a research scientist, it soon became evident to me that I needed to fully understand the human body, health and disease to see the big picture. I completed my medical studies and became a physician trained in primary care. I have been working at the interface of science, medicine and public health for the past two decades to bring high-quality affordable healthcare to populations in need.
